The average American home is about 40% more energy-efficient than it was more than four decades ago. However, most homeowners are still looking for ways to improve their home’s energy efficiency even more. Considering that more than seven out of 10 households value energy efficiency, it’s imperative to buy products that bear the ENERGY STAR® logo.
At Renewal by Andersen® of Kentucky, we take pride in offering replacement windows with excellent energy performance ratings to bring more value for money. Here’s what makes our products exceptionally energy-efficient:
Fibrex® Material
The frames and sashes of our windows are made from our exclusive Fibrex material. A cross between reclaimed wood fibers and thermoplastic polymers, Fibrex insulates roughly 700 times better than aluminum. Moreover, unlike other frame materials, it doesn’t expand and contract much at all with extreme temperature swings. It maintains its weathertight seal for decades to prevent severe air leakage.
Double Glazing
Our products consist of two panes to meet today’s standards. We optimize the distance between the sheets of glass to minimize heat transfer effectively. Our window company knows that too little air space negatively affects window energy efficiency, and too much is just as bad–if not worse.
High-Performance™ Low-E4® Glass
All our glass packages feature multiple layers of spectrally selective, Low-E coatings. Since they’re microscopic, they reduce solar heat gain and offer UV protection with virtually no effect on the clarity and color of natural light.
Argon Gas Blend
We pump our own argon gas blend into the space between our window panes. Not sensitive to seal failure, this gas blend is the perfect complement to the thermal performance of our multi-layer Low-E coatings.
Stainless Steel Spacer
Our double-hung, casement, sliding, specialty, picture, bow and bay windows feature a warm-edge spacer made from stainless steel because of its superior durability. In fact, it’s so strong we’re able to keep the spacer wall thinner than usual to conduct less energy without sacrificing glass stability.
Dual Seal
We use two sealants: compressed butyl (gas barrier) and specially formulated silicone (structural). To guarantee long-lasting adhesion, we remove the Low-E coatings around the glass edge to give the sealant a clean surface to stick to.
In addition to these impressive features, Renewal by Andersen of Kentucky windows also come with powerful, transferable warranties to give more bang for your buck. Call us at (502) 716-7264 now to schedule your free, in-home consultation in Louisville, KY, or any neighboring community.
