As hard as it may be to believe right now, warmer weather will eventually make its way into the region. Once it does finally get here people are going to want to get started on home improvement projects, and that includes getting their windows and doors replaced.Act While It Is Still ColdUsually when it’s cold people are thinking more about staying warm than they are about removing windows and doors from their home. The misconception out there is that you should wait to replace any of your doors and windows until the weather gets better, so that the cold doesn’t get in your home. While we do avoid installing new windows and doors on days of really bad weather, we do still work when it is cold outside. While we are working we take every precaution to protect the inside of your home from winter weather, including the cold. So there is really nothing to worry about on your part. One good thing about the cold weather though, is that because most people avoid installing windows and doors at this time we aren’t nearly as busy as we when the weather warms up. This means that you won’t have to wait very long between the time you order your new windows or doors and installation day.Wait Until Late FallIf you aren’t quite ready to have your new windows or doors installed yet, you might want to wait until later in the fall if you want to beat the warm weather rush. By the time fall comes around, everyone that is going to get their new windows or doors installed have already scheduled to have them done. Also in the fall most homeowners are concentrating on kids going back to school and the upcoming holidays, not launching into new home improvement projects. The cooler weather also promotes projects to get ready for the winter more than projects to improve the home. All of these combine into a great time for you to get in, order, and schedule your new windows or doors to be installed. With fewer homeowners installing new windows and doors, our schedule opens up again and we are able to work more around your schedule of when you want your new windows and doors installed.
