Decorating a Fall Bay Window

Bay windows are wonderfully versatile. They can be used to sit in and enjoy a good book, while at the same time getting a great view of the outdoors. They can also be used as a place to put holiday displays in.Making a Fall Bay Window with PillowsIf you are unwilling to give up your favorite place to sit for a holiday display, simply change out the pillows instead. Remove the pillows that you normally have in the window and put in pillows that are fall colors and patterns. Pillows that are yellow, red, brown and tan or pillows that have elegant fall patterns to them.By changing out the pillows, you still keep your favorite sitting spot and will also have it decorated for the fall.Fall Bay Window VasesVases are a great start for many different fall decorations to put in your bay windows. Vases also come in many different shapes and sizes; which adds to the look of your window and what you can put in the vases.In some vases, if there is room, you can put fall items in the bottom of the vase. Items like acorns, fall leaves, glass pumpkins, glass rocks in fall colors and wood, cranberry beads. You can also opt to not put anything at all in the bottom of the vase; it’s really up to your taste and budget if you want to.In the vases, instead of flowers, put in twigs with fall leaves and berries on them. You can also put in wheat, ivy and candles in the vases.

Other Additions to Fall Bay WindowsAlong with the vases, add in bowls of acorns, gourds, pumpkins, and bowls of apples. Anything that represents the colors and harvest of fall will fit right in to your fall bay window display.Try to layer things on top of each other as well, don’t just spread it out. A spread out holiday display loses its effect. Instead, try to add things in one space together. Like acorns and apples in a bowl together with a pillar candle in the middle.A simple way to give your display a grouped feeling is to use fall leaf ivy. Take the ivy and weave it between the different items of your display. The ivy will give your fall bay window display the connection it needs, without having to put a whole lot of different items in there.
