Fall Colors for Your Windows

Even if you aren’t into the leaves, pumpkins and other fall harvest produce, you can still decorate your windows with a taste of fall. All you need to do is to decorate with the colors of fall and people won’t even notice that you don’t have a single symbol of fall anywhere in sight.Fall colors are traditionally known as “warm” colors on the color palette. They are deep, rich colors that are most often seen in nature this time of year.You can use these colors in the form of solid, colored fall curtains, swags, items displayed in a table in front of the window or on your window sill.Reds Apples, maple leaves, oak leaves, and smoky, fall sunsets are just some examples that bring the color red into the fall palette. The red used in the fall is the regular shade of red or darker. The lighter versions that drift their way to eventually becoming pink are reserved more for summer and spring.Yellows Any shade of yellow, other than neon yellow, works with fall décor. It represents the trees that give us yellow leaves in the fall, as well as the still present sun. In fact, yellow is associated with 3 of the 4 seasons because of its association with the sun. Fall is the only time the color brown represents a season.Purple Surprisingly, the color purple is also a traditional fall color. It is one of those background colors that are more representative when displayed with one of the other more traditional fall colors though. In other words, don’t make your fall display strictly purple, because it won’t look like a fall display. Instead, use the other four fall colors and add a touch of purple here and there.
