Old, vintage, window frames are a fun way to decorate many spaces around your house and yard. But don’t count them out as seasonal decorations either.Vintage Window with Fall Images Putting fall words and images on the glass in a vintage window creates a classy fall decoration for any room in your home. You are free to put whatever you want on the window, making it also a unique extension of your personality. One example of what you can do is to put a shadow image of a pile of pumpkins in the lower, right hand corner and then in the upper, left hand corner put the word “orange”. You could also do cornstalks as your image and “harvest” as your wordThere are two main ways you can put images on the glass of a vintage window. First, you can paint whatever images or lettering you decide you want on the glass. You can always use acrylic paints since you won’t be doing any heavy cleaning of the glass, or you can use enamel paints, as well.Second, if you aren’t artistically talented, but are crafty, use vinyl lettering and images. While vinyl is the easier of the two if you can’t paint, you are restricted to what images you can find in the store.Decorating a Vintage Window fall Aside from decorating the glass, you can also decorate the outside frame and leave the glass alone. On the frame, you can paint or use vinyl lettering to put on autumn words. You could also put on small, autumn images instead of the lettering, or in addition to the lettering.Instead of putting on decorations that will be flush with the frame, think about fall decorations that could stand out on the frame, as well. Something like attaching a small, fall swag and attaching it to either the two top corners of the frame or opposite corners.Framing Fall Pictures in a Vintage Window Frame The easiest way to transform a plain, vintage, window frame is to turn it in to a vintage window, picture frame. Instead of putting pictures of your family in it though, you are going to put fall pictures in each of the sections of glass. This project works really well for Halloween, because you can use old, vintage Halloween pictures. The vintage window, paired with the vintage Halloween pictures creates a very nice vintage decoration for your wall.
