Fun Kid Created Thanksgiving Windows

With the kids out of school for Thanksgiving break, it is a perfect time to spend time with them by creating Thanksgiving art projects that can be hung in your windows. You don’t need many supplies, and these projects are quick and easy enough to do with them after dinner when everyone is home for the evening, or as something to pass the time during the day.Homemade Thanksgiving Window Clings

Materials Needed:

  1. Different colors of puffy paint
  2. Wax paper
  3. Easy Thanksgiving templates

To Create:

  1. Place the wax paper over the templates, with the waxy side up.
  2. Trace the lines of the template with the puffy paint on the wax paper. The thicker the lines, the easier it will be to maneuver later
  3. Let dry over night
  4. Peel puffy paint images from wax paper and apply to windows.

Yes, you could just buy Thanksgiving window clings to decorate your windows. It would be faster and probably cheaper, but this project gives you the chance to make your own unique clings and provides a fun excuse to spend time with your family.Turkey HandsMaterials Needed:

  1. Brown construction paper
  2. Pen
  3. Scissors
  4. Feathers

To Create:

  1. Trace hand on construction paper with fingers spread out
  2. Cut traced hand out
  3. Apply feathers to the main parts of the hand and the four fingers on top of the hand, leaving the thumb uncovered
  4. Apply to window

You can also add eyes, a beak and legs to your turkey with construction paper, but these feathered silhouettes look just as good without them.Thanksgiving Window TableMaterials Needed

  1. Brown construction paper
  2. Double-sided tape
  3. Foam food cutouts or cut food shapes out of different colors of construction paper

To Create:

  1. Arrange brown construction paper at the bottom of the window, so that it resembles a table
  2. Let your kids place the food shapes on the window just above the table. It should look like the food is sitting on top of the table, not hovering above it.

Because this project is so simple, kids any age will enjoy helping you with this one. For the older kids, they can cut out their own food shapes or extras to add to this unique Thanksgiving window decoration.
