Taking a Hallway from “Bleh” to “Wow”

Hallways can be boring. They are nothing but a long corridor that works as a pathway to get you from one room to the next. Yeah sure you could decorate the walls with pictures and other home décor to make it not so boring, but in the end that just makes it a long corridor with pictures.Why not break with tradition and break out the walls of your hallway and replace them with windows and patio doors?Change the Feeling of the HallwayReplacing the walls in your hallway with windows and patio doors change the feel from dark and boring to light and open. With having windows and doors for your hallway walls, there will never be a reason for the hallway to be stuffy again.Decrease Electricity Use in the HallwayBecause you will be letting in a lot of naturally light during the day, you won’t have to turn the hallway light on all the time to see when you are walking down it. Not having to use the hallway light during the day will help you cut back on your electric bill.Use the Hallway as an Additional Patio EntryInstalling a patio door in a hallway can also give you a beautiful, additional exit out of your home to the outside. If you already have a patio outside in the general area of where this new door is, use the hallway door as a second way to get to the patio.If the patio is not quite to where the new hallway door is, it will give you an excuse to expand your patio to reach this new door.
