The color blue is a color of winter. We use it to represent how cold we are when the weather gets colder, but blue has so many other meanings that are much deeper than just representing winter. Blue is also the most well liked color of out of all of them; which may have something to do with how it makes us feel.Meanings of the Color BlueThe color blue creates feelings of calm and peace. It is a color that is recommended by interior decorators over and over again for bedrooms and other rooms in the home where a feeling of tranquility is wanted. Just looking at the color blue slows the metabolism and reduces stress.People that relate to the color blue are ones that are described as loyal, truthful, predictable, conservative, and nostalgic.Variations of the Color BlueThere are many variations of the color blue, the most popular shades being sky, pale, azure, and dark.Dark blue is associated with responsibility. It is the color most worn in the corporate world (dark blue suits) because it evokes feelings of power, knowledge, and integrity. It is also the colored used in most police uniforms because of the same reasons.Azure blue is most associated with the color of the ocean in tropical paradises; which is appropriate as it is connected with the feelings of contentment.Sky blue is the shade of blue known as the “universal healer”. Blue doors don’t have near as many colors it goes with like a red door does though, so if you want a blue door you would have to take a look at the color scheme of the exterior of the home first. The Color Blue Mixes WellBlue is not a color you can overdo on a home as long as everything isn’t all the same shade of blue (you don’t want people thinking a smurf lives with you). Also doors and window trim that are painted a darker shade of blue than the rest of the house, usually looks better than a house painted in a darker color blue than the window trim and doors.Source: http://www.empower-yourself-with-color-psychology.com
