Valentine's DIY wreath

A simple wreath in the middle of your window or on your front door is a great way to decorate for Valentine’s Day. It takes only seconds to display, seconds again to take down, and there are so many out there that you should be able to find one that matches you and your home perfectly. And if you can’t find one in the stores, then you can always buy one.Hanging Your Valentine’s Day WreathBefore you hang your wreath, there are a couple of things that you need to keep in mind.First, be careful about what the wreath is made of. If you are hanging it in your window, you don’t want anything that is going to scratch the window when the wreath is being put up or if it is accidentally bumped. If you are going to hang it in your door and you have a storm door, you want a wreath that is thin enough to fit into the space between those two doors. If the wreath is too big it could get squashed and the glass on the storm door could get scratched. Also you don’t want to lose the use of your storm door, especially in February, just because you want to hang a Valentine’s Day wreath on your door.Second, select what you will hang your wreath on very carefully. Your first priority is to find something that is sturdy enough to hold the weight of the wreath you chose. If your wreath keeps falling down it can damage the wreath and your window or door, not to mention how annoying it will get having to hang that wreath up again and again.Your second priority is to choose a hanger that will not damage your window or door when it is put in place and removed. For windows, suction cup hooks are one of the best ways to go. For doors, a hook that hangs over the top of the door or a plastic hook that has a sticky backing that easily comes off are the best ways to go.Homemade Valentine’s Day WreathsIf you just can’t find a wreath that you like in the stores, think about putting your own wreath together. One simple idea is to purchase a heart-shaped piece of foam and wrap it with red, white, and pink ribbons. Use ribbons of different textures, widths, and patterns to give the wreath a fun look and secure the ribbons with pins with colored heads. Not only is this wreath fun for Valentine’s Day, but it is also light weight and easy to hang up on either your window or your door.
