Halloween Window Frame

Just have your old windows replaced or have an old vintage window lying around not being used? Well then, we have the perfect Halloween craft project for you!

Picture Frames from Those Old Windows

Instead of throwing that old window away or just letting it continue to take up space, turn it into a treasure to hold your family treasures.

Materials Needed:

  • Heavy piece of black cloth
  • Staples
  • Scissors
  • Halloween pictures of your family

To Create:

  1. Take the heavy piece of black cloth and staple it to the backside of the window frame. Staple all down the sides, across the bottom, up and down the grills that separate the individual panes of glass, as well as across them. DO NOT staple the material to the top of the frame. (Each individual pane of glass is going to hold a picture and with the way you just stapled the cloth to the window you just created the pockets that the pictures are going to go in to.)
  2. Just above each pane of glass cut a slit the length of that pane and high enough that you can’t see it through the front of the glass. This opening is where you are going to slide the picture in and out of, so it needs to be large enough for a photo to fit through.
  3. Decorate the outside with Halloween colors and other Halloween items that you can attach to the outside of the frame.
  4. Fill with Halloween pictures of your family
  5. Hang on the wall and enjoy for the season.

Vintage Card Holder

You can also fill your new Halloween picture frame with vintage Halloween cards, instead of family pictures. These types of cards have become popular once again and can easily be found in most stores.

To Create:

  1. Cut the back panel from the cards so that all you are left with is just the front with the picture on it
  2. Slide them in just like you would the photos (You can also skip attaching the heavy piece of black cloth and tape the cards to the grills between the window panes, instead. Just make sure to arrange the cards so that the images is showing the way you want it in the glass.)

Decorate the outside of the Louisville window frame, and hang on the wall to enjoy for the season.
