Aside from window clings and paint, there are other ways to decorate your windows with leaves. By getting creative with string and tissue paper; you will truly have the most unique window in your neighborhood.Hanging Fall Leaves Hanging leaves in an assortment of colors, sizes and at different lengths will give your window a nice dash of fall color. For this project, you will need clear string (not fishing line), fake fall leaves and tape. You could use real leaves, but fake leaves have a nicer form and color when it comes to indoor decorations. You also don’t have to worry about bringing in bugs that have hitched a ride on the fall leaves from outside. With each leaf, tie a different length of string to it and then tape it to the window frame about an inch or so from the glass. The leaf should be suspended in the air, looking like it's floating. With the other leaves also suspended nearby, but at different lengths, it will look like falling leaves in your window.Tissue Fall Leaves Tissue paper is the simple, paper equivalent of stained glass; which is exactly the look we want for this project. To create this window decoration, you will need contact paper and several colors of tissue paper that has been cut into 1”x1” squares.Outline several fall leaves on the nonsticky side of a piece of contact paper and cut the leaf shapes. Remove the backing of the contact paper and lay it on the table, sticky side up. Then attach the tissue paper squares to the contact paper, allowing them to overlap each other. You will have to arrange and possibly cut them so that they fit correctly, just don’t let any go beyond the boundary of the leaf edge. The colors of the fall leaves are up to you. You can do each leaf in one color, or you can attach all different colors to make them a vibrant mosaic. The single color will still have the multiple pieces look, but just not the uniqueness of using multiple colors for one leaf.Once the leaves are all done, use double-sided tape to attach the contact paper side to your window. When the light shines through during the day, you will have beautiful fall leaves that look like stained glass. At night, your neighbors will get to see the beautiful leaves when your lights from the inside of the house shine through them to the outside.
