Windows are the easiest place in your house to decorate for Valentine’s Day. They are also a high-profile spot, so you could get away with just decorating your windows and people would consider your home decorated for the holiday, even if nowhere else in your home was.
Here are some quick and easy ideas for you to use to get your windows decorated with little effort and maximum look.
Valentine’s Day Blinds
You can decorate your blinds in Valentine’s Day fashion in one of two different ways. First, you can replace the slats in the blinds with ones that are red, pink or white (depending on what color your blinds are already). This will give you a fun Valentine’s Day look on a large scale, and one that you don’t have to worry about falling down all the time.
With blinds you can also take a thin ribbon that is one of the Valentine’s Day colors or one that has a Valentine’s Day pattern on it, and loosely weave it horizontally down one or more of the cords that work to pull the blinds up. Again, you will want to weave it loosely so that you can still pull the blinds up, if you do it too tightly you won’t be able to.
Valentine’s Day Curtains
Curtains are fun to decorate for Valentine’s Day because they are one of the easiest window treatments to decorate. To add a touch of the holiday, just use Valentine’s Day ribbon or garland as a curtain tie back.
You can also drape Valentine’s Day garland from the top of your curtains. If you do this one, secure a separate piece of garland to each curtain, that way you will still be able to open and close your curtains without having to worry about the garland getting in the way.
Valentine’s Day Shades
Shades are the hardest of the window treatments to decorate for the holidays because of the way they open and the material they are made out of. With shades, the best thing to do is just to keep the Valentine’s Day decorations above them and to the side of them.
You can hang a wreath above your shades with Valentine’s Day Garland draped from the wreath down the sides of the shades. You can also use a garland of red, pink, and white flowers and drape them over the top of your shades to give them a Valentine’s Day look.
