Casement Windows
Renewal by Andersen® casement windows have long been a popular window style among area homeowners. Casements are an excellent choice when a home design calls for tall, low-profile windows. However, they can also be used together or in combination with other window styles to create show-stopping window configurations with tremendous natural light and views. And because Renewal by Andersen casement window are made of Fibrex® composite material, you can be confident they will never rot, warp, crack, split or peel.
Benefits of Casements
Casement windows swing outward with the help of a low-profile crank. Because they are so easy to open, they’re the perfect choice above counters, cabinets and other areas where opening and closing the window requires a reach. Simply crank them open and direct the fresh air indoors. Because casement windows open outward, they also provide a convenient level of control over how much air is allowed into the home.
- Hinged at the side to open outward
- Larger glass area lets in more light
- Easy-to-reach, single lever security lock
- Variety of interior and exterior colors, grille patterns, glass and hardware options
For safety reasons, a casement window should not be installed in areas where an open sash could obstruct foot traffic, such as near a walkway, patio or deck.
The Harder the Wind Blows, the Tighter a Casement Seals
Casement windows are very easy to open, making them a very popular choice in replacement windows. However, they are also the most energy-efficient ventilating window style. This is because they feature a compression seal that presses tightly around the full perimeter of the window to create a weather-tight seal. The harder the wind blows against a casement window, the tighter the window seals!

Window Glass
You may not be able to see the difference in the glass we design, but we promise you’ll feel it. Renewal by Andersen uses High-PerformanceTM Low-E4TM glass as standard in every window we build. This microscopically thin, metallic coating on the inner surface restricts the flow of radiant heat, helping keep your home warmer in winter and cooler in summer. It helps reduce ultraviolet and visible rays, while providing a clear, non-tinted view.
Our glass also uses a patented, low-conductivity spacer made of stainless steel that resists heat transfer much more effectively than the aluminum spacers used by many other manufacturers. An Argon gas blend is sealed between the glass to help inhibit the transfer of energy (heat or cold).
Window Screens
Our lightweight insect screens are included as standard with every operable window. They’re easy to remove, which makes them easy to clean. Constructed with an aluminum frame, they come with your choice of standard fiberglass or optional aluminum screen cloth. Upgrade to TruScene Insect Screens for a clear view!
TruScene insect screens are made with a micro-fine stainless steel mesh that’s one-third the diameter of standard screen wire.
See what you’ve been missing with over 50% more clarity than the standard insect screens.
