Purchasing an energy-efficient product for your home? LG&E is offering a rebate to incentivize homeowners to replace outdated products with new, energy saving options. This rebate covers high-efficiency replacement windows as well as window film, an economical alternative applied to existing windows.
Up to 70% of energy costs are related to heating, cooling and appliances. Upgrading windows can be an initial costly investment but the savings add up over time. As an alternative to replacement windows, homeowners are opting for the economical energy-saving benefits of window film. Window film not only reduces energy loss but also rejects UV to help reduce potential fading for furniture and can cut cooling costs up to 50%.
LG&E’s Home Energy Rebates Program offers up to 50% of material costs to residential owners of qualifying ENERGY STAR appliances, high-efficiency windows and window film. The rebate is applicable to products purchased after November 9, 2011. Additional details on this rebate can be found here.
